The R1 is the entry point to humanoid ownership. Launched April 2026 at a price point that rewrote the category, it puts a real walking, running humanoid into the hands of researchers, prosumer builders, and content creators.
Despite its sub-$15K price, the R1 is a serious machine — 26 actively driven joints, peak speeds of 10 m/s, and the ability to perform cartwheels, running, and dynamic standing recovery.
It ships with an open Python SDK and is ready to integrate with multi-modal language models for voice and vision pipelines.
